About Aled
hello I'm Aled, It's nice to meet you
I’m a Cardiff-based wedding photographer covering South Wales, but you’ve probably worked that bit out by now!
Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My mum was an art teacher who loved taking pictures. She even developed her photographs in a makeshift darkroom in our bathroom.
I still remember the smell of the chemicals and the magic of watching an image slowly appear in the developer. That sense of wonder has stayed with me ever since.
Before becoming a wedding photographer, I spent many years working as a TV cameraman. It taught me to think creatively, work quickly and spot those little moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.
I bring that experience to my wedding photography. My style is relaxed and documentary-led, which means I prefer to capture your day as it naturally unfolds.
I’m much more of an observer than a director. I love genuine laughter, candid moments and real emotion. For me, those photographs tell a much better story than awkward, staged poses.
I’m also pretty laid-back, and I like to bring a little calm to the day. You can relax, enjoy yourselves and leave me to capture the moments that matter.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family. They’re an amazing, energetic bunch who certainly keep me busy!
I love nothing more than making homemade pizza and hanging out with them.
I’m also a big fan of all things bikes, the great outdoors and growing my own vegetables. Throw in a trip to the beach, some good food and a really good coffee, and I’m a happy man.
